Season draws to a close
The 1st Team’s season finished this week with 1-1 draws against Downham Town and Hadleigh United respectively.
Ben Humphreys was on the scoresheet against Downham on Saturday, while Ben Judge netted the equaliser at Hadleigh on Wednesday.
Overall it was obviously a disappointing season as we recorded our lowest points total (30) since gaining promotion to Step 5 in 2015.
However, a much improved second half of the campaign ensured we finish 15th in the table, comfortably above the relegation zone.
The club’s season has not quite finished yet, as the Under 23’s (currently sitting 2nd in the table) are at home to Framlingham Town on Saturday (27th April, 3pm).
After Saturday’s match the club will be holding its end of season presentation evening in the clubhouse.
There are four further events before the curtain falls on the 2023/24 season:
Saturday 11th May Charity Five a side competition raising funds for the British Heart Foundation and Cure Leukaemia.
Sunday 12th May LM Vets versus Ipswich Park (their final game)
Saturday 18th May LM Youth FC Presentation Event
Sunday 26th May Dave Hennessey’s Charity Match raising funds for Children with Cancer.
