In a repeat of Saturday’s match at Heacham, this was another forgettable goalless draw with Brantham Athletic.

On a night of torrential rain, better spent with a hot cuppa by the fireside, the few brave supporters were treated to another tepid game of football.

Overall Melford had over 60 percent of possession, and created a number of chances,  but failed to convert.

Over the complete match Harry Brown found the side netting twice, and the Melford “goal machine” Ryan Gibbs had four half chances two being saved by Brantham keeper Finley Shorten (once briefly of Melford), and the other two efforts ending up wide of the goal.

Whilst the  talented Ben Judge had an effort cleared off the line and Melford skipper Jacob Brown forced Shorten into a diving save.

For Brantham who are going through a turbulent period on and off the field, they failed to really produce anything of real note but are to be commended for their fighting spirit which kept them going to the end of the game.

Thank goodness there was little added time after ninety minutes! CHENOBERET
