Statement from LMFC President
Another season ends at Long Melford Football Club, ending with a poor result but some good support.
Generally people have no idea of how difficult and expensive it is to maintain a local Football Club, from sixty years of being involved I can tell you it is very hard!
Thank goodness Macca and Irish are at the Club for next season, they have done a marvellous job this season, since joining well after the start of the Season.
There are a whole host of others who keep the Club running, all those within the cover of our programme. ALL UNPAID VOLUNTEERS Thank you ALL.
We are also grateful to ALL sponsors for their financial support, in particular our main sponsor KEVEN at KBS Groundworks.
Thanks to all our loyal supporters, and ALL the players who have tried so hard for us.
We plan for next season NOW. Training starts in June at Lavenham. We need players for trials so make contact please with our manager Macca.
We continue with the first team in the current League, but the Under 23s have been an expensive disaster this season, so disbanded and we have applied for a reserve team in the SIL. We will need players for that team.
We are planning to beef up our Under 18s team under new Managers, Nathan and Mark,
We also have an application for a Womens Team. So all very positive stuff!
We need to recruit MATCH DAY HELPERS, we are really struggling. We have a super kitchen BUT WE NEED SOMEONE TO TAKE OVER and create their own small business.
I can always be contacted Richard Kemp 01787 378149
Yours in Sport,
Richard Kemp
