Reserve team manager Darren Thomas was pleased with a comfortable win against Whitton at Stoneylands.
Goals from Frederico Dende (2) and Ricky Verdades earned the Reserves their first Thurlow Nunn Reserve League win of the season.
Here is Darren’s assessment of the match:
We played very good football in the first half. Second half we played well but not as good. The first goal came from Ricky Verdades after a great run down the wing and a cut across the box from Tapi Mabugu. The second came after a great spell of passing, three or four one twos before a Fred Dende drive into the box and a tidy finish. Half time two nil.
Second half saw us have a couple more chances but we couldn’t convert and Whitton hit the post before a quick break forward from Melford with Fred Dende getting on the end and scoring his second goal of the game.
All in all, a good day’s work and a well deserved three points.
