11 goals in FA Youth Cup match

Long Melford U18s were involved in a high-scoring FA Youth Cup tie last week.

Melford were very much the underdogs against Step 3 club Leiston’s youth team who ended up convincing winners.

However, goals from Solly Howe (two), Josh Twardowski and Ronnie Ward gave the scoreline a respectable look as losing by three goals was certainly no disgrace.

We let the game get away from us. Starting well we put Leiston under pressure early on, however some lacklustre defending and some really under par positional awareness ultimately cost us.

The game was gone before we started to impose ourselves again which was towards the end of the second half and consequently when we scored a majority of our goals.
