Great compliments to both teams and the referee, for playing in what were the most atrocious conditions for many a day.

Melford kicked off away from the Meetings Field end, into the teeth of a Force three wind and at times driving rain. Despite that aggravation the Melford team produced some fantastic football, quick first passing of a very high quality and some clinical finishing.

Soon after Kyran Quelch had fired against a post,  KYLE HURLEY found the net after 8 minutes to put Melford ahead. On eleven minutes  JAMES DORMADY, took the ball round keeper Matthew Webber for the second goal.

The third goal came after sixteen minutes when the impressive recent signing BILLY GRAY fired home from close range. After twenty one minutes JAMES DORMADY ran through the Woodbridge defence, a fine individual goal, to bring the team tally to four goals.

In a very rare Woodbridge attack Danny Godbold was only inches wide with a fine shot. Sheer persistence rewarded  KYLE HURLEY for the fifth goal after thirty one minutes. An excellent ball from Gray put in PERRY NEWMAN for the Melford sixth goal after thirty four minutes. KYRAN QUELCH also got on the scoresheet.

On forty three minutes the experienced BILL GRAY slotted home, after picking his spot to bring the scoreline to eight.

For the second half Melford introduced Elliot Walker, and for his debut  winger and teenager  Jaydee Hambira, who made a promising start by nearly scoring from the kick off only to be foiled by a double save from keeper Webber who overall did much to contain the score line.

After sixty six minutes ALFIE PARNELL scored with fierce shot to give Melford their ninth goal. On sixty nine minutes ALFIE PARNELL doubled his tally when he took the ball round keeper Webber, thus giving the Villagers double figures.

On  seventy nine minutes  PERRY NEWMAN netted after running through the Woodbridge defence goal  eleven for Melford. Melford went further ahead on eighty three minutes when Elliot Walker deftly played in JAMES DORMADY for his  hat trick goal.

On the last stroke of the game the speedy and tricky Hambira cut in from the left, passed to JAMES DORMADY for his fourth goal and number thirteen for The Villagers.  CHENOBERET
