Villagers 1896 fixtures book unearthed

Another piece of Long Melford Football Club history has been unearthed – the team’s 1896 fixtures book.

Clubs like, Bury St Edmunds, Bury Alexandra, Lavenham, Colchester Town, Earls Colne and Haverhill Rovers feature as opponents during the season.

Meanwhile, there are also reserve team games on the list, with local outfits Clare and Glemsford cropping up.

We are proud of our heritage and history at Long Melford Football Club, that goes back more than 150 years.
