Against a Soham team unbeaten in four games in the TN North Division this proved to be an excellent game with some high class football from both teams.

Throughout the game play fluctuated from end to end, with both teams finding the goal post and bar during the game.

After a period of Melford pressure Soham took the lead after  26 minutes a ball into the Melford box found the head JOSEPH DRAYTON, his header hit the post and the rebound fell from the grasp of Melford keeper Jasper Mullan, to just cross the goal line.

Melford came back strongly with Thom Chance and Josh Twardowski testing the visiting keeper.

The Melford leveller came on 32 minutes when after some fantastic passing movement OLLIE BLOOMFIELD converted at the far post.

The second half again was a good advert for Under 23s football with both teams providing good entertainment, both team created chances to take a win but some great work by both keepers defying goal scoring attempts.

The killer blow for the visitors came almost on the final whistle when the impressive  THOM CHANCE muscled his way through the Soham defence to score with a high powered right foot finish.

This resulted in a fracas on the pitch, with Soham player COREY BRAYBROOKE being sent off, and Melford defender  FREDDIE BAYLISS treated likewise for alleged retaliation.
