Thom Chance scored a brace in the U23’s local derby against AFC Sudbury.

This was a first class game between two evenly balanced teams, and probably the outcome was about the right result.

The visitors took the lead after  14 minutes when SONNY PERCIVAL got on the end of a free kick to score from close range.

Two minutes into the second half and Melford were level, a brilliant thirty yard run by THOM CHANCE saw him convert from four yards giving Stefan Robson in the Sudbury goal no chance.

Chances came at both ends but were not converted.

Against the run of play Sudbury took the lead, when Melford keeper Frazer Foy tried  a short pass in his own penalty area, but  GEORGE LAMB, intercepted to score from  three yards for what was an early Christmas Gift for Sudbury.

Deservedly Melford levelled on 79 minutes with THOM CHANCE running from the half way line to fire home. Another high calibre goal from Thom Chance.!

The Melford Man of the match award went to  Jack Utting on his first game since returning to LMFC.
