A draw seemed inevitable until a bit of Roy of the Rovers took over the game on 90 minutes.

Melford were missing Callum Dongray and Lewis Brennan injured,  Josh Collins suspended, and the Gibbs brothers Ryan and Jordan at Carrow Road watching brother Liam, overcome Ipswich Town.

Overall it was an even game, Melford having good early chances through Ben Humphreys and Frederico Dende with Soham keeper Finley Iron making some fine saves

At the other end  Matt Walker saved well from Kevin Sharman and Robert Cristica.

On 43 minutes Melford went ahead when JACOB BROWN turned in a cross from Will Wingfield, from close range.

Into three minutes of added time and some very poor defending by Melford saw a sliced clearance come to HAYDEN LAMBERT ten yards from the Melford goal and he drilled the ball into Melford net.

The second half replicated the first period with chances at both ends and on 89 minutes the game seemed to heading to a tame draw.

Then on 90 minutes Hassan Ally was brought down on the edge of the Soham penalty area, Will Wingfield took the penalty kick, which was saved by Iron the Soham keeper.

On 94 minutes Melford went into a post game slumber, and picking up a poor Melford cross field  pass  ex Grimsby Town trainee  SAM MULREADY ran some 40 yards through a static Melford defence to fire home.

The Great Escape for Soham, and a touch of crying in their beers for Melford! CHENOBERET
