Mixed results midweek

Harry Brown scored his first goal for the club on Wednesday on an otherwise disappointing evening.

Last season’s runners-up Thetford Town cruised to a 6-1 win at the Skyline Networks Stadium.

From the Melford perspective after keeping a clean sheet on Saturday it was a case of one step forward, two steps back. Although it has to be said there were some excellent goals scored by Thetford.

The game was over as a contest by half-time with Thetford leading 4-1. Two second half goals completed the rout.

No match report this week as our regular reporters were unavailable on Wednesday.

Better news from the U23s who were 3-1 winners at Whitton United on Tuesday in their opening league match.

Robert Dormady, Luwa Luwabelwa and Ricky Verdades scored the goals in a great start for new manager Lee Greenwood.

No 1st Team fixture this weekend, while the U23s are on their travels to Harwich & Parkeston.
