Long Melford Reserves returned to winning ways following last week’s draw.
There was a frantic pace to this game, but little for the football purist.
Some poor defending by Melford after 4 minutes allowed free reign to BEN MORRIS who smashed the ball home for Halstead.
Lots of effort by both teams with Melford leaving it to 43 minutes to level the score line, a shot from Jordan Gibbs finding a deflection into the net for an OWN GOAL.
The second half saw chances at both ends with young keeper Alex Utteridge making two fantastic saves to keep Melford in the game.
On 78 minutes Melford took the points when some great work by Perry Newman set up C J GLOVER to fire home.
The win means Darren Thomas’ team stay 3rd in the table.
