The Villagers improved form continued with their fourth League win on the bounce, which takes them further away from the relegation zone.

And overall they deserved this victory over Heacham two places above in the League table.

Earl on Melford were well in control, with the Ben Judge long throw causing problems in the Heacham box. At the other end Heacham forced a couple of corners which the resolute Melford back line dealt without any real  problems.

The Melford goal came after 37 minutes a Ben Judge long throw was not cleared by Heacham and HARRY WHITING-NOAKES drilled the ball home from close range.

The visitors responded straight away, and on 39 minutes hesitation in the Melford defence  gave the ball to CHARLIE ROYLE and the striker rifled home from the right wing on the angle, a goal of quality.

Incredibly Melford restored their lead on 41 minutes, a brilliant ball from Judge found RYAN GIBBS who fired into far post net.

After some heavy hail/rain, the sun came out to greet the players for the second half.

On 54 minutes Jacob Brown almost increased the Melford lead but Aaron Watson the visiting keeper produced a top drawer save.

The visitors increased their tempo and with Melford looking a little jaded from their midweek Cup game at Harlow, they had to fight hard to maintain their lead.

Nearest to a leveller for Heacham was when Royle their best player, was foiled by a timely interception by Josh Collins when in on goal.

Melford found the side netting with a shot this was emulated by Heacham minutes later, but Melford held on for a deserved victory. CHENOBERET
