Rest In Peace, Pat

Pat Parmenter, long term supporter of Long Melford FC, was buried recently.

He died at the age of 94, and until the last two years was a regular supporter at home games, and in earlier times away games also.

He was born in Great Waldingfield, and moved to Long Melford at the age of 16, he played football locally including a spell at Long Melford.

In recent years Pat took up athletics and was a regular at running events, and was even running half Marathons into his early seventies.

In memory of Pat a one minutes silence will be observed at the next home game at the Skyline Networks Stadium, due to be (subject to weather!) 3pm on the 17th February 2024.

A donation will be made to the Club from his estate, for an item at the club, that can be dedicated to the memory of Pat.

His favourite saying from the grandstand to the opposition player often play acting and rolling on the ground after a tackle, “Get up you are spoiling our grass”

RIP dear Pat.
