Winning start to 2024!
Will Wingfield scored the winner in a 1-0 victory at Sheringham in Long Melford’s first match of the new year.
After encouraging draws with high-flying Newmarket and Thetford over the festive period, there were signs the elusive win was just around the corner and it came on the Norfolk coast yesterday.
Up next for the First Team is Tuesday’s League Cup tie at Harwich & Parkeston. This match has already been postponed twice because of the weather. Hopefully it will be third time lucky on Tuesday.
It was not such a good day yesterday for the U23’s who were beaten 3-0 by Harwich at The Skyline Networks Stadium. Next match for the U23’s is at home to Holland FC on Saturday.
