Long Melford president Richard Kemp and wife Blanche celebrate winning the 2019 Thurlow Nunn Challenge Cup

Message from the Hon President LMFC

Andy/19 Dec, 23/582/0
NewsPresident's View

This 23/24 season has been very difficult for Long Melford Football Club.

Grassroots football has suffered like the general population from the pressures of inflation and the difficult financial climate.

Sadly here in Suffolk established football clubs have folded as a result.

So we have to say a big thank you to the whole “TEAM” involved with Long Melford Football Club who have kept the Club alive and playing.

Our First team have struggled over the season to get on the winning trail (I can vouch for the fact we have a dedicated management team and  team of players).

It’s somewhat odd as on paper the current team is stronger than last season when we finished mid table. Now is the time to change all that!

On Boxing Day we entertain Newmarket Town at 11am at the Skyline Network Stadium, so let us turn out in force and get behind our team and get us into the winning habit.

To you all have a peaceful, joyous and loving Festive Period,  and we look forward to seeing you on Boxing Day.

RICHARD KEMP
