Football postponed as nation mourns

Andy/09 Sep, 22/597/0
News

Long Melford FC joins the nation in mourning the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The Club should like to extend its condolences to all members of the Royal Family at this sad time.

All football matches scheduled for tomorrow across the country have been postponed, as a mark of respect to the Queen.

A new date for our home match against Newmarket Town will be confirmed soon.

At this difficult time for the country, we would like to highlight our club sponsor Sue Ryder and the brilliant work they do on bereavement support:

You don’t have to have known the Queen to feel affected by her death.

Grief can take us by surprise and the loss of a public figure may even bring feelings to the surface again if you’ve experienced a bereavement in your own life.

If you or someone you know needs support following the news this week, we’re here for you. sueryder.org/support
