Hassan Ally and Alfie Parnell were on the scoresheet in the Reserves’ last match of the season.
The draw means David Hennessey’s team finish 5th in the Thurlow Nunn Reserve League. A marked improvement after struggling towards the bottom of the table before Dave took over.
For Melford this was not the way they would have wanted to end their season. Away at Whitton, Melford ran out easy winners , but the Whitton team that turned up at Stoneylands was entirely different from earlier in the season.
The Villagers went ahead after 32 minutes through HASSAN ALLY, and the second came after 63 minutes from ALFIE PARNELL.
Countless chances were not converted by Melford, with Whitton keeper Riley Calton, making some fantastic saves.
Missed chances meant that Whitton got back in the game through LUCAS VANCE and in added time JOSH SMITH levelled the scores.
