Clinical finishing from March Town extended their unbeaten run to 14 matches.

Ironically the Villagers had drawn 1-1 at March only last week, despite playing with 10 men for 70 minutes.

However it was a different story at Stoneylands today, with March taking control of the game with goals either side of half-time.

Melford did create chances but Hares keeper Charlie Congreve made several important stops, including a second half penalty save that prevented the Villagers getting back in the game.

Melford had the best opportunity of the early exchanges when Ross Waugh headed towards goal from close range but Congreve made a fine reflex save.

On 27 minutes Melford failed to clear a long throw in their penalty box and JACK SAUNDERS volleyed home from 15 yards.

At the other end Melford continued to threaten and on 36 minutes visiting keeper Congreve was caught in possession when HASSAN ALLY stole the ball and found the net.

On 41 minutes March again went ahead, a free kick from the edge of the box from DANNY EMMINGTON found the Melford net.

Two minutes into the second half and March increased their lead, sloppy Melford defensive play allowed CRAIG GILLIES unchallenged to finish from close range.

On 68 minutes George Day was brought down in the box, Day stepped up to take the penalty kick but keeper Congreve dived full stretch to save.

Congreve then made another good save from Jamie Griffiths and there was a welcome return as a late substitute for club captain Steve Adams, after 18 months out through injury.
