Honours even in Saturday’s Thurlow Nunn Premier clash at Stoneylands.

David Lopez gave Melford a first half lead with a sweet strike that whistled into the net via the post.

Whitton hit back early in the second half when Ollie Dunlop headed in a good cross from the left wing.

There were chances for both teams to snatch a late winner but it ended a point apiece.

Meanwhile the Reserves won 3-0 at Whitton yesterday. Isaiah Opara opened the scoring with a rifled drive into the top corner from 25 yards just before half-time. Charlie Holmes doubled the lead with a delicious lob from almost the centre circle. Charlie Waite completed the scoring with a tap in from six yards after some excellent football and a great cross from Holmes.
