Kirkley & Pakefield 1 Long Melford 1

Andy/08 Aug, 21/1701/0
First TeamMatch ReportsNews

Long Melford made the long journey to Lowestoft yesterday to play Kirkley & Pakefield in the FA Cup.

It was a week to remember for 18-year-old Alfie Parnell. He was the Suffolk Free Press man of the match for Melford in his first team debut on Tuesday – yesterday he scored his first senior goal with a stunning strike!

Reflecting on the 1-1 draw the Villagers will have mixed emotions. Overall it was Melford who had the better of the chances and hit the woodwork twice, but Kirkley very nearly snatched victory late on. Stand-in keeper Cody Skeggs made a crucial save to keep his team in the Cup.

The replay will take place at Stoneylands this coming Wednesday (11th August), 7.45pm kick off.
