Remembering Arthur Kemp
Arthur Kemp spent his whole career playing for Long Melford from the age of 17 up to 30, interrupted only by National Service in Germany, where he played for the British Army team.
Most of Arthur’s career was in the Reserves as an old fashioned centre forward, interspersed with periods in the first eleven.
During his time at the Club, Arthur did the plumbing in the existing dressing rooms together with his best mate John Ford who was a goalkeeper at LMFC, and in latter years Arthur helped with many repairs at Stoneylands.
Arthur passed away in December 2019, aged 87. Like former players Sammy Price and Les Elms, his ashes were scattered on the Stoneylands pitch.
