The home team maintained their unbeaten start of three games with an impressive performance.
The opening goal came after 12 minutes when home keeper Frazer Foy found PERRY NEWMAN free down the Melford left flank, and the wide man took the ball round theĀ visiting keeper to net a fine individual goal.
Although Lakenheath threatened at times Melford had two towers of strength in central defence with both Jubril Akinade and Tejiri Oboba having high class games, backed by some good keeping from young Foy in the Melford goal.
The second half saw Melford take most of the plaudits but some wasteful finishing marred the final touch.
With some debatable refereeing decisions, the game briefly flared out of control, with perhaps players lucky to have not received red cards in the ensuing melee.
Melford crowned their performance in added time when KYRON QUELCH converted from close range.
