Report
This was a keenly contested game, which spilled over at times with frayed tempers and really would have benefitted from an official with a firmer approach.
After 14 minutes Hadleigh went ahead, when TOM STEPHENS-FOURACRE, was given acres of space and fired home from 25 yards.
Some miracle saves from home keeper Max Boulter kept Melford in the game.
The Villagers created a number of chances the other end but delays in shooting was a serious problem, first touch shots would have surely produced results?
Efforts came from Ethan Flack who saw his shot pushed round the post by the keeper, and 3 minutes before half time Ricky Verdades saw his powerful effort strike a Hadleigh goal post.
Within 30 seconds of the second half Melford were level, KYRON QUELCH spotted the keeper off his line and lobbed the ball into the net from thirty yards, an almost replication to the goal scored on the TV in the FA Cup only an hour earlier for Forest Green Rovers, by ex Ipswich Town star Connor Wickham, which was from the half way line.!
Chances fell at both ends to score the winner and the nearest to a goal came when an Ismail Marshall blockbuster hit the Hadleigh crossbar.
