A robust defensive display saw Melford stifle the much-heralded Ipswich Wanderers front line only to be denied a win by a last gasp equaliser.
It shows how far this Melford side has come in a short space of time that they come away from The Doucy disappointed to only take a point from a side undefeated at home in 12 months.
It was the visitors who took the lead on 13 minutes, a goal kick from David Leader was flicked on by Alfie Parnell to HASSAN ALLY, the in-form winger calmly lobbing the advancing keeper.
Wanderers looked to hit back but found the Melford back four led by Deklyn Roy impenetrable. Ball after ball was repelled by the visitors defensive wall and they rightfully led at the half-time whistle.
The start of the second half saw yet more pressure from the home side, despite this it was Melford who carved the best chance, a wonderful through ball from Ally found Perry Newman in the Wanderers box but his loose touch found the home keeper instead of the back of the net.
The home side were pushing forward looking for a goal and Teon Leggett came the closest with a shot that hit the outside of the post.
Deep into injury time and with Melford looking like they would hold on for a massive victory, a miss-kicked ball into the visitors box wrong-footed the otherwise excellent defensive unit and substitute DARREN MILLS nipped in to score and maintain Wanderers unbeaten start to their league campaign.
Disappointment for Melford but a very good point on the road against a side not many teams will take anything from.
Melford are back in action again on Saturday with a road trip to Norwich United.
