It ain’t over til it’s over!

Long Melford came from behind to grab all the points with two late goals and extend their 100% home record.

Two in-form teams produced a great game with some fine end to end play.

The visitors Netherton United based in Peterborough have been a surprise entry to the league with some excellent victories in their first season at Step 6.

On 34 minutes Melford were awarded a penalty. Jack Graham fired in a text book kick, but was thwarted by a fine diving save by teenage keeper Toby Hart, just what Netherton wanted.

There followed goal line clearances at both ends.

On 39 minutes Netherton were awarded a penalty which leading scorer KYALL WEST fired home.

Melford levelled on 43 minutes with a bullet header from BRANDON SALISBURY.

On 51 minutes Netherton went ahead when a long throw was not cleared by Melford and  JORDAN NEIL  fired home a rebound.

Then the Melford grit came good. KONNOR OUGHTON equalised on 87 minutes with a great solo goal.

And then came the epic finale well into added time. Evan Gledhill provided the assist and HARRY CONWAY scored the winner with a header at the far post.
