Report
A first League defeat for new manager Macca McConnell – and the poorest display seen since his taking over the role.
In truth, Melford looked jaded, lacking in energy, and lethargic. The age profile of the visitors being much lower than Melford, this was evidenced by more pace and more running all over the pitch.
The main tormentor to Melford being teenager Issac Hinds, who Melford failed to control throughout the match.
Although the half time whistle saw no goals, in truth the visitors had ample chances to have taken the lead with Melford keeper Ben Moye the saviour, aided twice by the goal frame.
On 61 minutes from a corner a Melford defensive miskick, saw a simple HARVEY NORMAN finish from close range.
Melford threw everything into getting the equaliser, but it never looked likely.
In the last minute of added time, with Melford throwing everyone forward for a corner a sharp defensive clearance found JOSH EVANS unmarked on the half way line, keeper Moye blocked his first shot but he tucked away the rebound. Enough written! CHENOBERET
