Before yesterday’s match a wreath laying ceremony organised by supporters with a one minutes silence took place in memory of LMFC Chairman Geoff Thomas who died recently.

The visitors Mulbarton Wanderers  have a good attacking style with a  concentration featuring fast play down the flanks.

Although the first half saw Mulbarton have plenty of control The Villagers managed to collect some corners on the way.

In fact Melford created at least three good chances  but Will Thorp and Ben Humphreys were unable to find the net.

At the other end keeper Jayden Smith made some fine saves.

The first half goal came in a rather bizarre manner after 18 minutes. As Melford rushed towards the Mulbarton goal, a last minute, challenge by the Norfolk team, saw  Reuben Chinnery taken down on the edge of the area. Melford thought it was a free kick but the official thought otherwise, a few seconds lapse in concentration, and with three  quick Mulbarton passes,  the talented and sought after  ASHLEY JARVIS,  fired into the Melford net.

The half time whistle came and despite the goal set back Melford still were confident of getting a result.

The dreams at half time were dashed for Melford minutes into the second half. On  48 minutes. tricky teenager  Noah Hunt skipped down the Melford left flank without any real challenge, and his cross from the byline  found  ASHLEY JARVIS who converted his second  from close range.

It was even more incredible when the same move was replicated minutes later,  and this time  OWEN LANE fired into the Melford net. This impacted heavily on the Melford confidence, but despite Mulbarton  always having the upper hand Melford fought to the end without reward.

Nothing further to scoreline thanks to some outstanding saves from Jayden Smith the Melford keeper.
