The six pointer at Melford turned up with a zero reward for The Villagers, thwarted again by defensive errors and a lack of cutting edge in the box.
Buoyed by their fantastic travelling support Heacham always looked sharper than Melford and took full advantage of some slack defending from the home team.
The over zealous referee showed his intent after two minutes when after what looked an accidental heel clip by Melford defender Patrick Campbell, he quickly produced a yellow card.
The visitors went ahead after 8 minutes when Melford keeper Harrison Crowther under physical contact from the opposition failed to control the ball, and in an almighty goal line melee, the ball found the Melford net, off a Melford defender (Heacham attacker J Goult?).
At the other end on 14 minutes Melford were unlucky, when striker Errol Stewart ran towards a loose ball just outside the visitors penalty area and out came Heacham keeper Aaron Watson, who failed to connect with the ball, and brought down Stewart in his failed attempt, just outside the box. The referee came up with the decision of a free kick just outside the area, and a yellow card, the colour being a surprise of to many spectators, including some visiting supporters.
The free kick taken by Stewart went narrowly wide of the upright.
Despite the low positions of both teams it was an entertaining game.
Again the Melford defence looked shaky with Nathan Davis and Colby Wood going close for the visitors.
On 37 minutes young Melford keeper Crowther produced the save of the match when he acrobatically turned a shot from Colby Wood over the bar to keep Melford in the game.
Some heavy rain greeted the start of the second half. Like the first period the second half was entertaining, with again Heacham looking more threatening, and Melford with plenty of good work failing to find a finish in the Heacham box.
The second goal came after 74 minutes, with the Melford defence back peddling thus allowing Jake Prentice to square the ball to JOSH WILLIAMS to fire home.
Three minutes into added time Heacham found their third goal a fairly tame shot from JOSH WILLIAMS was pushed into his own net by Crowther in the Melford goal. CHENOBERET
