Report

Ryan Gibbs and George Frodsham scored the goals in Saturday’s draw at Lakenheath.

A much improved performance from Long Melford to pick up their first point of the season.

Not at full strength with injuries and holidays still meaning absent players, this was a promising performance from Melford.

The home team went ahead early in the first half when a free kick was headed into the path of  TEDDY HOGG  who fired home.

Melford looked dangerous on the break with  Ryan Gibbs having a couple of chances.

On  forty minutes Ben Judge broke with speed attempted to round keeper George Whitebank who pulled the Melford attacker to the ground. A clear goal scoring chance denied the keeper was red carded.

From the resultant free kick on 43 minutes GEORGE FRODSHAM found the net with a skilful kick.

Into first half added time and RYAN GIBBS fired home from close range reward for some hard work during the first period.

Although with ten men, Lakenheath had a  spirited second period, that saw chances at both ends.

The home team leveller came after 89 minutes when from a corner  TOM DEBENHAM headed home. CHENOBERET
