Report

Promotion hopefuls Dereham Town ended Long Melford’s four match winning run.

Without six regulars missing Melford held well for 20 minutes then conceded a soft goal to Dereham on 22 minutes scored by JORDAN BUTTLE.

From then on it was a bad day for Melford.

On 62 minutes Ryan Gibbs should have levelled when through for Melford but fired over the bar.

Things got worse for Melford when Dan Smith on the field from the subs bench on 72 minutes was red carded for a dreadful tackle.

Things only got worse for Melford when Jake Cobbold was yellow carded for a tackle in the penalty area, penalty converted on 76 minutes by  BRADLEY SPOONER, and in the 93rd minute ANDY EASTAUGH converted from close range.

Well done to Dereham and for Melford “no comment” would be appropriate. CHENOBERET

LONG MELFORD: Walker, B Judge, Jackson, Roy, Whiting-Noakes, R Gibbs, J Brown, O Judge, Cobbold, Wingfield, H Brown

Subs: Smith, Dende, Chance, Luwa, Davies
