After a slow start Melford got back to their usual high standard and as a result got back to winning ways against Gorleston Reserves.
It was not an easy game as the team from Norfolk have some good talent and play well as a team.
It looked early on that the game was going to be a an AFC Sudbury duplicate, when Melford lost. Again as at Sudbury, Melford conceded a penalty early on when their keeper Ben Moye was adjudged to have committed a foul in the penalty area.
And after only 16 minutes SAM WOOLDRIDGE converted the penalty to put the visitors ahead.
From then on it was vary much end to end football, with Melford keeper Moye excelling as did his counterpart from Norfolk Travis Canham, in the Gorleston goal.
For Melford both Brandon Salisbury and Brandon McKay had good efforts saved, whilst for Gorleston Declan Allan failed to convert two good chances.
On the half time whistle Melford levelled when a Charlie Glover cross was headed home by RIO SIMPSON, then moments later the half ended.
The second half saw Melford up their game, and they started to threaten the Gorleston goal. But Gorleston were no pushovers and only some sturdy defending by George Bareham and Alfie Carroll, kept the scoreline intact.
On 79 minutes Melford took the lead with a goal of real quality. A great free kick from Glover, was headed home by BRANDON SALISBURY.
There were some more scary moments for both teams but Melford held on to get back to winning ways. CHENOBERET
