1st Team win & U23s draw

The First Team made their third long journey of the season on Saturday and this time returned with a positive result.

Goals from Will Wingfield and Olly Hughes earned a 2-1 win at Whittlesey Athletic as Melford made the journey home from Cambridgeshire with three valuable points.

A defeat would have left Melford rock bottom of the division, instead they move up to 16th place ahead of Wednesday’s League Cup tie at home to Leiston U23s (7.45pm kick off).

Meanwhile at Stoneylands the new look Under 23s kicked off their new season with a 2-2 draw against Holland.

The Melford goals were scored by Thomas Matthews and Kyle Reed.
