A tough night against a much improved Woodbridge side saw Melford take a share of the points.
The Villagers reserve side scored 13 against Woodbridge earlier in the season. The home team deserve credit for the improvement they have made since then.
There were some controversial decisions by the referee, including the Woodbridge penalty (converted by Jordan Davis), culminating in a red card shown to manager David Hennessey.
On a more positive note it was an impressive debut from Charlie Sigler, Hugo Hertz shined on his first start and it was pleasing to see Max Boulter and Deklyn Roy return from injury.
Jack Delaune scored the Melford goal from a Sigler assist.
LONG MELFORD RES: Boulter, Coy, Williams, Hertz, Collins, A.Roy (c), Sigler, Holmes, Delaune, Quelch, Hambira.
Subs – Allen, Bartlett, Ward, D.Roy
Up next for the Reserves is the semi-final of the Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup against Stowmarket Town (at Claydon FC). Please note this a ticket only match. Supporters can purchase tickets here
