Long Melford 3 Little Oakley 0
Long Melford advanced to the next round of the FA Vase at Stoneylands yesterday.
George Day’s fifth goal in his last three matches gave Melford the lead at the break, then Ben Judge scored twice in the second half. The assists came from Sam Mills, Hassan Ally and Jamie Griffiths.
Sadly the win was marred by an unfortunate injury to Dan Swain who dislocated his shoulder. A speedy recovery to Swainy from everybody at the club.

In the next round of the FA Vase, Melford are away to Burnham Ramblers (Saturday 25 September).
- The Reserves completed a good week for the club with a point on the road at Saffron Walden Town. Joe Andrews scored the Melford goal in a 1-1 draw. As expected it was a tough game and Walden were ahead at half-time. Melford deserved something for their efforts and having hit the bar twice will feel a little unlucky not to take all three points, although it was a good away point nevertheless.
