New clubhouse, new crest, new website
The 2021-22 season will herald a new era for Long Melford FC as the club continues to grow on and off the pitch.
Our new clubhouse is set to open at the start of the season, and to mark this next step in the club’s long and distinguished history, we are also launching this brand new website and unveiling our new club crest.
The previous Long Melford FC crest dates back to around 2001, but it was decided that a refresh was required in line with the new website, www.longmelfordfc.com, and the opening of the new clubhouse at Stoneylands.
The new club crest retains the black lion emblem, but now also features a roman helmet to signify the archaeological findings at Stoneylands in recent years, which have included parts of a roman centurion’s helmet.
The club’s traditional black and white stripes feature in the lower half of the new crest, below which is stamped the year 1868 to commemorate the first recorded game played by Long Melford Football Club.
The crest will adorn the new Macron kits of all the clubs at Stoneylands, including the youth teams of the Long Melford Colts & Fillies.
The website will continue to grow over the coming weeks too, providing a perfect place to showcase our partners and sponsors, share our history and heritage, and keep fans updated with the latest news, reports and features from our first team, reserves and Under-18s teams.
The new Long Melford FC crest was designed by weareborder as part of their full website rebrand and redesign.
If you would like to use the crest for any reason, please download via this link. There are a number of different colour versions and sizes.
